Shanghai, China – Shanghai music companies have seen a huge boost in revenue following the Chinese economy’s economic upturn, which is set to last up to 2020.
In the past five years, Shanghai music revenue has increased by 40 per cent, said Jing Guoqiang, vice president of music sales at Shanghai’s Shanghai Music Group.
“We are witnessing the Chinese music industry’s rapid growth, which has allowed us to grow our business, and we have witnessed that the economic growth has been particularly strong in China.
The growth of China’s music industry has also helped us to bring more talented artists and music lovers to Shanghai,” she said.
Singapore-based music producer B.B.P. released a video in 2015 of its music producer and producer of song and film director, Mr. Chan, playing the theme from the film The Hunger Games.
Mr. Chan is the first Chinese director to have won the award.
In Singapore, B.S. Wong-Chung, director of music, music production and radio, said he is thrilled that his group’s song “A Moment In Time” is nominated for a record-breaking award.
He said the group has seen its sales double over the past two years, and they plan to release a new album this year.
Singlish music producer Ms. Wang said that her group has also seen a big growth in sales, and that it has seen a surge in the number of Chinese artists appearing on its albums.

In January, Ms. Wong said she had also witnessed an increase in the quality of Chinese music as a result of the economic boom.
